Information for Students:
Fall 2007 Government Interview Program (GIP) Tuesday, September 11 and Monday, September 17, 2007* Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20001 (* Six employers will be interviewing at the Law Center on additional dates in September and October) ------------------------------------------- GIP is a unique opportunity for Georgetown students to interview for paid summer and entry-level positions with government agencies. GIP is a “pre-screened” program, which means that participating employers review candidates’ resumes and then select the students they wish to interview. Employer research and bidding, resume upload, interview selection notification, and self-determined interview scheduling will be conducted online via Symplicity. Important Dates & Deadlines Symplicity opens for bidding: Monday, July 30 at 12:00 pm (noon) Bidding Deadline: Thursday, August 9 at 6:00 pm Candidate Selections Released to Students on Symplicity: Wednesday, August 29 Selected Students Must Schedule Interviews Between: Wednesday, August 29 – Tuesday, September 4 at 6:00 pm Alternate Sign-ups: Wednesday, September 5 - Thursday, September 6 at 6:00 pm (State Department alternates must schedule interviews by September 5 at 6:00 pm) Scheduling Cancellation Policy
We encourage students to carefully consider their GIP bids as there are limited interview opportunities through this program. Under no circumstances may you just "skip" an interview.
The GIP Student Instruction Booklet contains important information on researching and bidding for employers as well as instructions on resume upload, interview notification and interview scheduling.
