Georgetown University Law Center's Office of Public Interest and Community Service is pleased to invite you to participate in the Fall 2008 Government Interview Program (GIP), scheduled for September 17th and September 18th. GIP provides federal, state, and local government employers the opportunity to recruit Georgetown Law second year law students for paid summer internships and third year law students for entry-level positions.

The program will take place at the Washington Court Hotel, located across the street from the Law Center.  Interview format is ballroom style.

GIP Overview:

• GIP is limited to government employers interviewing for paid summer and/or entry-level positions.  We encourage employers to participate if you anticipate making offers during the fall semester. If you anticipate a longer timetable before making offers, and/or you are interested in recruiting for volunteer summer or academic year positions, please contact Manager of Public Sector Recruiting Amy Lawrence to discuss alternative recruiting programs.
• Employers have the option of conducting interviews on September 17th and/or September 18th.  Our office can coordinate alternate interview dates as necessary.
• GIP is administered electronically via Symplicity, an online  recruitment management system through which participating employers may register, receive student resumes, and select candidates for interviews.
• The program is 100% employer pre-selected; therefore, employers review resumes and select the students to be interviewed.

Important Dates:

GIP September 2008

• Employer registration begins Friday, May 2, 2008.
• Employer registration deadline is Monday, June 30th.
• Employers will receive student resumes on Friday, August 15th.
• Employer deadline to make online selection of interview candidates is Friday, August 29th.
• Interviews will be held from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17th and/or Thursday, September 18th.

How to Register:

• Log onto Symplicity with your user id and password.
• New participants will need to create an account to register.  Please go to Symplicity to create your account for registration.
• Once you have logged in: 1. complete the Profile tab and 2. click on OCI and select the Government Interview Program session, from which you will be able to select either September 17th or September 18th.
