Georgetown University Law Center's Office of Public Interest and Community Service Fall 2009 Government Interview Program (GIP) is scheduled for September 15th and September 16th. GIP provides federal, state, and local government employers the opportunity to recruit Georgetown Law second year law students for paid summer internships and third year law students for entry-level positions.

The program will take place at the Washington Court Hotel, located across the street from the Law Center.  Interview format is ballroom style.

GIP Overview:

• GIP is limited to government employers interviewing for paid summer and/or entry-level positions.  We encourage employers to participate if you anticipate making offers during the fall semester. If you anticipate a longer timetable before making offers, and/or you are interested in recruiting for volunteer summer or academic year positions, please contact Manager of Public Sector Recruiting Amy Lawrence to discuss alternative recruiting programs.
• Employers have the option of conducting interviews on September 15th and/or September 16th.  Our office can coordinate alternate interview dates as necessary.
• GIP is administered electronically via Symplicity, an online  recruitment management system through which participating employers may register, receive student resumes, and select candidates for interviews.
• The program is 100% employer pre-selected; therefore, employers review resumes and select the students to be interviewed.

Important Dates:

• Employer registration begins on April 29, 2009 .
• Employer registration deadline is June 30, 2009.
• Employers may view student resumes online on August 12, 2009.
• Employer deadline to make online selection of interview candidates is August 26, 2009.
• Schedules available will be available to employers on September 10, 2009.
• Interviews will be held from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15th and/or Wednesday, September 16th.

How to Register:

• Log onto Symplicity with your user id and password.
• New participants will need to create an account to register.  Please go to Symplicity to create your account for registration.
• Once you have logged in: 1. complete the Profile tab and 2. click on OCI and select the 2009 Government Interview Program session, from which you will be able to select either September 15th or September 16th.
