The Public Sector Virtual Job Fair

Designed to compliment more traditional recruiting methods, such as on-campus interview programs and job posting databases, the Public Sector Virtual Job Fair is a "high tech" job fair that takes place online.

How does the Fall 2007 Virtual Job Fair work?

• Beginning on October 1, 2007, you can "attend" the month long Virtual Job Fair on Symplicity: research available positions for Summer 2008 and/or entry-level opportunities for Fall 2008 and apply via Symplicity with your cover letter and resume.
• Employers to which you apply will receive your application materials on November 1, 2007.

• Employers will contact directly those students they wish to interview. Interviews may be held by phone or at employers' offices; interviews will not take place on campus.

How can I participate?

• Begn by clicking on Symplicity.
• Click on "OCI" and then "Public Sector Request for Resumes" in the session pull down box under the Employers/Bidding tab.
• Research participating employers and upload your resume and employer specific cover letter by Wednesday, October 31, 2007.

PLEASE NOTE: The system requires students to rank order their bids, although, the rank order has no effect on your candidacy because employers do not see your ranking when they select the candidates they wish to interview.

Important Dates:

• The Virtual Job Fair opens to students on Monday, October 1, 2007 and closes on Wednesday, October 31, 2007.
• Employers will receive student cover letters and resumes on Thursday, November 1, 2007.
• Employers are encouraged to contact students for interviews prior to the end of the Fall Semester.
