At Georgetown, we are dedicated to the principle that members of the legal profession and those aspiring to enter the legal profession have a professional obligation to assist in providing quality legal services to individuals, groups or causes that are under-represented in the legal system. We offer many opportunities for students to get involved in volunteer legal work (pro bono) and non-legal community service throughout the Washington, D.C. area.
Georgetown encourages students to sign up for the Pro Bono Pledge. JD students pledge to complete 75 hours of volunteer work during their three years in law school. Transfer students pledge to complete 50 hours and LLM students pledge to complete 25.
