Parking
Enforcement
The Department of Public Safety has the responsibility
of enforcing the Parking rules and regulations through
parking citations, warnings, and in some cases, impounding
the vehicle.
Violations
The following is a list of typical parking and traffic
violations. GULC reserves the right to cancel parking
privileges for three cumulative unpaid or non-appealed
violations of these regulations, or any violation that
creates a potential health or safety risk to other vehicles
or pedestrians in GULC parking facilities.

Sanctions
Administrative and disciplinary sanctions may be imposed
upon those who abuse parking policies. These include,
but are not limited to:
a. Withdrawal or suspension of campus parking
privileges
b. Oral and written reprimand and other
progressive discipline, as indicated.
Members of the general public who habitually or flagrantly
disregard GULC parking regulations shall have their
vehicles impounded and be responsible for all citation
and impound fees.
Payment
of Citation Fees
All fines associated with violations to this policy
must be paid to GULC Parking, Rm. 104, 600 New Jersey
Ave., NW .
Citations must be paid in full or appealed within seven
(7) business days of issuance. Delinquent Citation Payments:
A citation not paid after seven (7) business days will
result in a $5 late charge, unless an appeal has been
filed. Late charges will continue to accrue on if payment
is not received at a rate of $10 for the next 7 days,
$20 for the next 7 days, etc. These charges may be assessed
on the student's account. Three or more unpaid or non-appealed
citations will result in the loss of parking privileges.
Appeals
Process and Review
Currently all appeals can be made in the Department
of Public Safety, McDonough Hall, rm. 125. Please bring
the ticket and any substantiating evidence. Citations
for parking in a fire zone will not be dismissed.
Metro Card
Program
All employees who wish to be on Metro payroll deduction
must first register with the Parking Office. Bring your
Georgetown ID when registering. You must be a Full Time
employee in order to participate in the program. To
limit exposure to loss or theft, MetroChek fare card
inventory should equal one month's needs per payroll
deduction listing, plus a few extra fare cards on hand
to cover possible errors from payroll.
