Marnie Kaplan, Research Assistant


      Marnie Kaplan is in her final year of joint degrees in law and public policy at Georgetown University. During law and graduate school she has interned at the DC Public Schools’ Office of the Chancellor, the US Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law. She has also worked as a research assistant for Professor Peter Edelman. Marnie graduated in 2005 magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.A. in English and History. Prior to graduate school, she taught middle school English in the Bronx as a Teach for America corps member and worked for a small New York non-profit. At Georgetown Law, Marnie has taught law to high school students through the Street Law Clinic, and blogged about education policy as a PRAXIS Fellow. She currently serves as the Notes and Comment Editor of the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy.
