The Law Center is committed to training the next generation of public-interest lawyers. The Office of Public Interest and Community Service offers alternative career counseling and resources and facilitates student pro bono work. Other Law Center public interest programs include the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), and the Public Interest Law Scholars (PILS) program.
Our clinical programs do far more than provide experiential learning opportunities for our students. They provide legal representation, research, and analysis to assist a variety of underrepresented groups. Most of our clinics have extensive websites, listed at right.
The National Center for Tenant Ownership supports community-based economic development and assists in the provision of affordable housing in low and moderate income communities across the country.
The D.C. Family Literacy Project helps incarcerated parents develop the literacy of their children through enhancing their own literacy-building and parenting abilities.
The Women's Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program enables law graduates with a special interest in women's rights to work in the nation's capital on legal and policy issues affecting women.
