Non-Degree Program for Law School Graduates
|

|
Attorneys who wish to take courses in a particular field may apply for admission through the Office of the Registrar as non-degree students. To be considered for acceptance into this program, students must hold a J.D. or LL.M. degree from an ABA-approved law school with at least a “C+” cumulative grade point average or an LL.M. from Georgetown. Students who do not have a degree from a U.S. law school but who have a law degree from outside the U.S. will be considered for admission on a case by case basis. Students accepted into the non-degree program are not candidates for a graduate degree. Non-degree students may enroll in a total of no more than four graduate courses or a maximum of eight credit hours, and may take no more than two courses per semester. Non-degree students must satisfy the same academic requirements and abide by the same Law Center rules and policies as candidates for graduate degrees. Non-degree students are not eligible to enroll in J.D. level courses unless they are Law Center graduates. Non-degree students cannot enroll in J.D. first-year or clinical courses, nor can they enroll in a program of Graduate Independent Research. Note: Enrollment is on a space-available basis with enrollment priority given to degree candidates. Application and Fee Non-degree students are charged a non-refundable application fee of $80 which is due by the application deadline (December 19 for Spring 2012). Please complete the online application form available here. To pay the application fee, please complete the Application Credit Card Authorization form here and submit either via fax at 202-662-4069 or email to stdaccts@law.georgetown.edu. The application fee must be paid by the December 19 deadline in order to register for Spring courses. Registration Registration for the Spring 2012 semester via MyAccess begins on December 19. Additional registration information is available here. Tuition Deadline Tuition is charged on a per credit basis and must be paid in full no later than Friday, January 6 for the Spring 2012 semester. Tuition not paid by this deadline will result in the cancellation of the student’s registration. (Note: Tuition charges are assessed once a student enrolls in a course. If enrollment occurs after the January 6th deadline, tuition is due upon enrollment/registration). Payments not received by the tuition due date are subject for late payment fee and a monthly 1.75% service charge. Tuition refunds will be calculated from the date the Office of the Registrar receives written notification of a student’s withdrawal from a course or courses from the Law Center. No exceptions to this policy will be approved. You can view and pay online through MyAccess. If you wish to pay your tuition with a credit card, please complete the Tuition Credit Card Authorization form here and email it to stdaccts@law.georgetown.edu. Please contact the Office of Student Accounts at (202) 662-9057, by email or website for additional information.
