NOTE: This information is supplied solely to aid students in planning their course schedules. Faculty reserve the right to alter course requirements at any time.


Course Title Column
( P ) This course has a MANDATORY (P)rerequisite listed in the Law Center online Curriculum Guide or supplementary materials. A student will be prevented from registering for a course for which (s)he has not completed the mandatory prerequisite unless the student submits the professor’s written permission to the Office of the Registrar at the time of registration.
( R ) This course has a (r)ecommended prerequisite listed in the Law Center online Curriculum Guide or supplementary materials.
( X ) This course is listed in both the J.D. and Graduate schedules with a limited number of spaces allocated to students in both programs.
( YR ) "Year-long course:" This course meets in both Fall and Spring. Both semesters must be completed to earn credit.
( PP ) "Professor Permission:" Enrollment in course is solely by permission of the professor teaching the course.
( ME ) This course is "mutually exclusive" with at least one other Law Center course. Students may not earn credit for both this course and the similar course(s) listed in the Law Center online Curriculum Guide or supplementary materials. A student will be prevented from registering for a course if (s)he has previously completed a mutually excluded course.

( Date ) This course requires an exam, to be held on the date indicated. The exam date is followed by a letter indicating the time of the exam: "A"=9:00 a.m.; "B"=1:30 p.m.; "C"=6:00p.m; "D"=10:00 a.m.; "E"=2:30p.m.; "H"=5:45 p.m.; "I"=7:55 p.m.; "J"=11:00 a.m.; "L"=9:30 a.m.; "M"=3:30 p.m.; "N"=1:20 p.m. Only final examination dates are listed. Professors may assign one or more mid-semester exam(s) or other types of assignments.
TK "Take Home Examination(s)": Course requires one or more take home examination(s). An optional paper may supplement the examination.
WR This seminar requires an paper which satisfies the upperclass writing requirement.
WR-Opt This seminar offers a paper, in lieu of an exam. The paper will satisfy the upperclass writing requirement. The Professor's permission may be required to opt for the paper.
PAPER This seminar requires a paper or papers.
PA-Opt This course offers a paper in lieu of the exam. Professor's permission may be required to opt for the paper.
