Off-Campus Housing Listings ruler

Georgetown University Law Center will no longer supply listing opportunities from individual property owners on our Off-Campus Housing website as of July 1, 2005. The decision to discontinue our listing service was based primarily on the District of Columbia’s department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs basic business license requirements on certain types of properties within the city, and the lack of properties meeting these new requirements. In an effort to provide our students and community with best possible service, the Office of Residence Life will provide links to other housing listing services in the area.

The accommodations listed HAVE NOT BEEN INSPECTED, nor are they necessarily recommended by the Office of Residence Life or the Georgetown University Law Center and the University assumes no responsibility for any misrepresentations. After you have selected locations that you are interested in, you may see each location depicted on an area map by accessing http://maps.yahoo.com/yahoo/

District of Columbia: Maryland: Virginia:

There is very limited parking available at Georgetown, either on Georgetown property or around the school, thus commuting by public transportation is strongly encouraged. Depending on where you choose to live, you may save an hour or two per day by using public transportation, which time might be used for reading. Also, you may be able to reduce your automobile insurance if you don't drive to school. Some options available are listed below:

  • Local Transportation Brochure (PDF)
  • Metro - Train and bus service within the Washington metropolitan area.
  • MARC Commuter Rail - Advantages of MARC: free parking at many stations, bathrooms on trains, you may eat food on the train, less expensive than Metro (on a monthly basis), and you usually always get a seat on the train.
  • VA Commuter Rail
