SHOP (Student Housing Orientation Program) ruler

The Student Housing Orientation Program (SHOP), held twice annually, is designed to assist Georgetown Law Students with their housing needs.  Since Georgetown Law is primarily a commuter campus, most students are required to search for off-campus housing.  The spring S.H.O.P. (April) is arranged primarily for Gewirz Student Center residents in order to help facilitate a smooth transition from on-campus living to various types of off-campus situations.  All Georgetown Law students are welcomed to attend.  The summer S.H.O.P. (July) is held for all Georgetown Law students that are seeking housing for the upcoming academic year.

Presentations include information on:

  • Conducting a successful housing search
  • Neighborhood descriptions
  • Managing finances
  • Realtor fair
  • A student panel
  • Rental insurance
  • Housing types
  • Area price ranges
  • Commuting/public transportation options

Our SHOP program is held at the Gewirz Student Center.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at 202-662-9290.
