Gewirz Student Center Housing Application Information ruler
To apply for housing, you must be an accepted Georgetown Law Student for the Fall 2011. If you have any questions about the application procedure, please call 202-662-9290 or e-mail us at housing@law.georgetown.edu.

The Gewirz Student Center contains apartments for approximately 290 students. First year law students will be given priority. In May, we will run a lottery to assign apartment types based on preference. If we have more applicants than spaces available, this lottery will also determine those to be placed on the waiting list. To enter the lottery, please follow the instructions below:

Step One:

Please visit the admitted students website: https://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissions/admitted/housing

If you would like to request a particular roommate, please observe the following:

  1. The person must be an accepted law student at Georgetown and must also request you on his/her Housing Application.
  2. Some apartments accommodate three residents. There are two spaces on the Housing Application in case you wish to request two roommates.
  3. If you wish to reside with your spouse, your spouse must also be an accepted law student at Georgetown University Law Center.

Step Two: Submit the Housing Application with your non-refundable $125 by May 6th.  If you are not selected in the lottery for an apartment space, you will be placed on the waiting list. Should you not receive a space by August 1, your $125 lottery deposit will be refunded.

Step Three: The lottery drawing will be held at the beginning of May. Shortly after the drawing, you will be notified as to whether you have been assigned an apartment space. If you receive a space, you will be sent an Occupancy Agreement with your room assignment for the academic year. The signed Occupancy Agreement is due by June 15, 2011. Your space will be released if not received by the due date. Upon receiving your occupancy agreement your semester's rent will be applied to your student account. Please note there is a $400 cancellation fee that will be applied to your student account should you cancel your housing after June 15 unless attending another institution. Any housing damages or other outstanding charges related to your Gewirz Student Center occupancy will be charged to your student account.

If you are not selected in the lottery for a space in an apartment, you will be put on a waiting list. If space becomes available in the Gewirz Student Center, you will be notified according to your lottery number.

Important deadline for entering lottery for apartment space in the Gewirz Student Center: May 6, 2011.
