- President PRESIDENT I want to be your 3L delegate to continue advocating for our student body. As SBA Secretary, I solicited student opinions and addressed them through projects like the SBA resolution for better wireless. Additionally, I organized the “Puppy Break." This semester, I have organized mixers with the Medical and Business School which will be happening in the coming weeks! I also helped in organizing Food for Thought, where students can have lunch with professors Next year, I will work with alumni services to increase interaction between students and alumni and use our expansive alumni network. I will continue working hard and allowing the student body to dictate my focus. I would be honored to have your vote for 3L delegate. Thank you! Matthew Smith My name is Matt and I come from a small Midwestern town outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. My small town values, combined with a drive to succeed stemming from an under privileged youth, give me a unique perspective on life. As a transfer student, I have experience with a Student Bar Association at another school and look forward to adding that experience to the SBA here at Georgetown. For example, I would like to push for a greater variety of products in the dining hall, including energy drinks, such as Redbull, and beverages such as vitamin water. Bruce Strong Hi, I'm Bruce Strong. Lauren Sugarman (No statement submitted) Daniel Tavakoli I have served on SBA since my first year of law school, as both a delegate and the Evening VP. I want to continue to build community among law students as a 3L delegate. I've delivered results in the past two years; I look forward to serving you next year as well. Austin Tice If elected, I hereby swear that I will: 1. End quiet hours in the gym forever, by ceding Curtsied in perpetuity to the #OccupyDC representative with the craziest hair. 2. Force Professors Peller and Sullivan to henceforth settle all of their disputes through a no-holds-barred, winner-take-all mud wrestling match. Ticket proceeds will benefit all the needy children, everywhere. The loser must forever refer to the winner as "My Liege." 3. Merge Taco Tuesday and Wind-Down Wednesday into a single, massive, awesome, sprawling event. Also, no more poofy taco shells. Those things are weird. Justin Waddell (No statement submitted) Shaun Zhang 3E DELEGATES Anthony Campau It's been great getting to know you over the past year and a half, and I look forward to learning and growing with you more over the next couple of years and beyond. You're working hard at school and a job and life, and you should have representatives who understand that balancing act and effectively communicate your needs and interests. I think I understand what you're going through and would be honored to serve you on SBA. Please vote for me! Sarah Danley Claire Frezza As a section 7 student who has remained in the evening program, I think I'd do an excellent job of representing the needs of students who attend law school while juggling work. I currently work full-time as a pharmacist, and would like to advocate for more opportunities for evening students to take advantage of what Georgetown has to offer, as our schedules often preclude our attendance. Additionally, I've spent many years in student government, ranging from class representative to president. I am really fun, I love law school, and I love student government; I am the total (tiny) package. Melinda Lewis I am running for 3E representative because there is such great work to be done on SBA and I have only gotten my feet wet this last year as Transfer Student Representative. In the past year, I participated on two committees: the Office of Career Services and the Evening Student Committee. OCS’s big accomplishments this year were updating GPA data for EIW and brainstorming new ways to increase EIW survey feedback. If elected, I want to take on a more central role on both committees and ensure that evening students’ concerns are adequately represented, especially when it comes to EIW. Tommy McDonnell For those of you who have chosen to remain in the evening program, it would be an honor for me to represent you on the SBA this year. My priority is to ensure that evening students are able to participate in and enjoy as much of the GULC experience as possible, despite our often hectic schedules. Being in the evening program doesn’t have to mean that our time consists of work and class and nothing else; for those who are so inclined, I’ll do my best to maximize the social and academic integration of evening students into the GULC community. 4E DELEGATE Chad Seibel (No statement submitted) JOINT-DEGREE DELEGATE Greta Matessich (No statement submitted) Alexa Sendukas I would love the opportunity to continue as SBA Social Chair and am always open to your suggestions, comments, or questions about Bar Review and Wednesday Wind Down (georgetownlawsocial@gmail.com)!
