GEORGETOWN LAW STUDENT BAR ASSOCIATION: Special Events Committee. ruler

SBA Special Events Committee

This committee plans, advertises for, and executes at least two major schoolwide events each semester. Traditionally, those events are:

Fall Float

The Fall Float is a recent Georgetown Law tradition. In early fall, cruise the scenic Potomac River on board a private party boat with over 300 of your best law school friends. Two enclosed dance floors, two heavy appetizer tables, and two open wine and beer bars complement the open deck surrounding the cabin. There’s nothing more relaxing than feeling the rush of the Potomac air ripple through your hair as you get to know your fellow law students. This event sells out, so buy your tickets early.

Barristers’ Ball

The Barristers’ Ball is held every year in the spring semester, usually in late March. It is a Black tie optional event at a large-scale venue for over 750 guests and is lovingly referred to as "Law School Prom." Barrister's Ball traditionally features heavy appetizers, a rocking DJ, and an open wine and beer bar. The Special Events Committee is also proud to bring you an official Barrister's Ball After Party, to keep the party rocking in case you haven't had enough yet. This event sells out, so buy your tickets early.
