FAIR is an association of 36 law schools and law faculties whose mission is to promote academic freedom and to support educational institutions is opposing discrimination.

FAIR's first project was a legal challenge to the Solomon Amendment. Its case, FAIR v. Rumsfeld , went before the Third Circuit, which held that the Solomon Amendment was unconstitutional under the First Amendment. In March 2006, the United States Supreme Court reversed the Third Circuit, upholding the constitutionality of the Solomon Amendment.
