Regalia, Announcements & Rings Preparing to Leave Georgetown Law |
General Rain Site Arrangements Tickets are not required for the Main Ceremony if the weather is nice. In the event of rain, tickets will be required for the main ceremony only, to be held in McDonough Arena at 2 p.m. University officials will make a "rain call" by noon on Sunday, May 18 regarding whether the Main Ceremony will take place indoors. In the event of rain, a notice will be posted on the home page of Georgetown University Law Center. In addition, the University's Inclement Weather telephone message will be updated with the ceremony location. The telephone number is 202-687-SNOW (202-687-7669). In the event of rain, guests without rain site tickets will be able to view the Main Ceremony from the Pavilion tent outside of the McDonough Arena. There they will be able to view the distinguished speaker from a satellite TV projector. All guests will be able to attend the 3 p.m. Section Ceremonies for diploma distribution without a ticket.
Tickets Graduates may pick up 2 tickets in Room 171, beginning on March 10th. Tickets must be claimed in person in the Office of Student Affairs. This first round of rain site ticket distribution will continue through April 18th. There is no charge for Rain Site tickets. Tickets not claimed by April 18th will be forfeited. On April 21st, the second round of the rain site ticket distribution begins. At this time, graduates can pick up 2 additional rain site tickets for commencement, again at no charge. The second round will be conducted on a first come, first served basis. If graduates forget to pick up their first 2 rain site tickets before the end of the first round ends in mid-April, they will only be able to pick up a maximum of 2 rain site tickets, even if they are coming in for the first time. If tickets remain on May 5th, a final round of distribution may be held. *Please note that graduates do not need tickets.* The Office of Student Affairs will not replace any lost or stolen tickets.
