Yes, if Commencement is held in McDonough Gymnasium due to inclement weather. All graduates will be instructed to pick up packets from the Office of Student Affairs beginning March 1st.

Yes.  Graduates will have an opportunity to purchase photos taken with diplomas at Commencement.  Photos will be taken at Commencement by Chappell Photography.

Each section gets to select a speaker to give a short speech (5 minutes or less) at their diploma ceremony.  Speeches will be recorded on video and posted online.  Graduating students from your section will have one week to view the speeches and cast votes for a section speaker, March 15-19.  If you are interested in speaking at Commencement, please follow this process:

  • Between February 5th and February 26th: Sign up to audition in the Office of Student Affairs, Room 170 McDonough.  Sign up to record your speech in the Office of Audio Visual Services.  Voting will take place between March 15th through March 19th Please note: You must be signed up by February 26th in order to make an audition tape for consideration.  A detailed criterion for speeches is available here or via hard copy in the Office of Student Affairs.  Please come back for more information.
  • Section Speaker Winners will be announced on March 30th.

Thank you to all of the graduating students who voted for Section Speaker!  In this year's elections, we had a record breaking number of students vote.  The quality and presentation of every candidate's speech were extremely impressive.
