Club Fair
- Early Fall
A great way to get involved in one of Georgetown Law's
many student organizations
is to attend the annual Club Fair, which
is held in the first weeks of the Fall semester.
Student organizations sponsor lectures, community
service projects, and many other activities.
Representatives from over 55 organizations
and public interest clubs will be on hand
to provide information and sign-up sheets
for their groups and events. This event is
usually held on the Quad and also features
free food, drinks, and music.
Socials
Held throughout the year, socials bring
together students, faculty, and staff. Light
foods and beverages are provided. Several
themes include a celebration of Hispanic
Heritage Month, Mardi Gras, and a Holiday
Social. The events are co-sponsored by the
Office of the Dean, the Student Bar Association,
and the Office of Student Affairs. Evening
socials for evening students are also sponsored
by the Office of Student Affairs.
Grazin' on the Green
The Office of Student Affairs hosts all
students and faculty at casual get-togethers
on the quad with music, food, soft drinks,
and beer. These offer a perfect opportunity
for students to relax between classes.
Domestic Violence and Rape Awareness
Week
In an effort to foster understanding and
end violence against all women, OSA co-sponsors
discussions of the many legal, societal,
and personal issues of rape. Panels encourage
participation and problem-solving strategies,
as well as an awareness of available resources.

Ryan, Hart
and Kaiser Lectures
Established in the memory of Thomas F. Ryan,
a 1976 alum, the Ryan lecture series strives
to enrich the education of the Georgetown
Law community. The Henry Kaiser Memorial
Lecture and Scholarship fund was started by
family and friends of Henry Kaiser upon his
death in 1989 to honor his contributions to
labor law and the betterment of working people.
A lecture each year features a nationally
known expert in one of Mr. Kaiser's fields
of interest.

Each year, the G&S society presents
full-scale productions of dramas and musicals
in the McDonough Moot Courtroom. Each production
brings together students, faculty, staff,
and alumni at all talent levels.

raises money to provide funds for students
in unpaid public-interest summer positions.

Taste of
Georgetown Law
Taste of Georgetown Law is an annual fund raiser for
the Bettina Pruckmayr Award. Bettina was a
1994 graduate of the Law Center, whose life
was tragically cut short during a brutal robbery.
A monetary award is given each year to a graduating
student dedicated to continuing Bettina's
work in the field of International Human Rights.
This year's Taste of Georgetown Law repeats last year's
popular theme: For the Love of Chocolate.
For a nominal fee or the contribution of a
homemade dessert, participants are admitted
into a room filled with an assortment of chocolate
treats, where they are allowed to eat to their
heart's content. |
