V. Food & Drink At the Law Center, the Market Cafe (first floor of McDonough) and Courtside (in the Sport & Fitness lobby) are convenient for a quick bite. Nearby Chinatown offers a wide variety of dining options, and is a frequent destination for law students. Closer to campus are several popular burger-and-beer joints such as the Billy Goat and Kelly's Irish Times (which both accept GoCard), as well as The Dubliner and Capitol City Brewing Company. The Union Station Food Court also has a varied selection of foods to offer, but be aware that some food stands only accept cash. For a culinary adventure around DC in general, check out these great listings from the Washingtonian for DC's 100 Very Best Restaurants, as well as its Dirt Cheap Eats. Also keep an eye out for the semi-annual DC Restaurant Week in January and August, where normally expensive restaurants offer special reduced-price meals, around $20 for lunch and $30 for dinner, for the duration of the week. DC has an active nightlife, with major bar scenes in areas such as Adams Morgan, Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and U Street. In addition to the Washingtonian's bar reviews, you can find local hangouts through the Washington Post, which has a relatively comprehensive listing of bars and clubs. Make sure to take advantage of the ever popular DC happy hour, which lasts roughly from 5 to 7 pm. That's a good time to find specials and great deals on appetizers, food and drinks. Happy hour offerings change often, depending on the establishment you visit and the day of the week, so online listings get out of date fast. The best way to keep on top of these is word of mouth.
