Office of Student Life: Getting to Know DC Guide

II. Housing The Georgetown Law Office of Housing and Residential Life has good resources and guides for your housing search. Essentially, though, there are two options: you can live on campus or off campus. Georgetown Law does offer limited on-campus housing in the Gewirz Student Center. Living in Gewirz offers convenient access to facilities such as the gym, and proximity to classes. While Gewirz has great amenities, on-campus life is not for everyone; many students choose to live off-campus. The closest apartment building to the Law Center is known as Mass Court, but that is certainly not the only option for off-campus living. Typical DC neighborhoods where GULC students live include Adams Morgan, Dupont, Capitol Hill, and Foggy Bottom. The Office of Housing and Residential Life has a guide for typical housing costs in these neighborhoods. Additionally, some students choose to live outside of the District, in Virginia and Maryland neighborhoods where the commute is easy because of the proximity to metro lines. Such neighborhoods include Rosslyn (VA) or Friendship Heights (MD). Here's another guide from the Office of Housing and Residential Life that will help an off-campus housing search. And of course, don't forget to also look for off-campus housing through postings on Craigslist and asking your friends if they know of any housing opportunities.
