Student Organizations Student organzations are the heart of extracurricular activities at Georgetown Law. Popular annual events run by student organizations include the EJF Auction, Barrister's Ball, Home Court, Fall Float, Gilbert & Sullivan Productions, and Bar Reviews.
List of Student Organizations There are many student organizations at Georgetown Law. Please check out our new student organization booklet for a list and descriptions of the groups at Georgetown. For additional information about student organizations and contact information, please don't hesitate to drop by or contact the Office of Student Life. Student Bar Association The Student Bar Association (SBA) is the governing body of the students at Georgetown Law. Through its activities, the SBA endeavors to further legal education, promote fellowship and goodwill among students, faculty and the administration, and advocate the concerns of the Law Center's students. In addition, the SBA coordinates student activities and organizations, and is charged with appropriating funds for student activities and student organizations. Forming a New Group Student Organizations are a vital and integral part of Student Life at Georgetown Law. There are a wide variety of student organizations that actively produce activities and events for the students and the community at Georgetown Law. New student organizations can be considered for official recognition and funding from the Student Bar Association by following the steps outlined for new student groups. How to Plan an Event for your Group Specific information will be added shortly, but for now the Student Organization Guide contains the information you need in a section on how to plan an event. Finances The SBA is in charge of budget allocations for student groups. Click here for more information about budget submittals and supplemental funding. Student Organization Guide The Student Organization Guide was developed to assist student organizations in fulfilling their important role in enriching student life at Georgetown Law. It includes information, policies and advice on forming a new student organization, budgets, event planning, financial procedures, facilities, equipment, and services. Your organization can obtain a printed copy of the Guide in McDonough 170.
