Each spring, the LAWA Fellows hold a congressional briefing on Capitol Hill to share their research and experiences with members of Congress, their staff, and members of non-governmental organizations. The briefing gives the Fellows an opportunity to advocate for specific changes in US policy affecting women's rights in their countries and hone their public speaking skills.  It also provides the Washington community with a unique window into the realities and and obstacles associated with the women's rights struggle in Africa.  Voice of America's InFocus program tapes the briefings for use in its continuing coverage of Women's Rights in Africa.
