Mary is a graduate of Oberlin College in 1979 and University of Iowa College of Law in 1988. She spent her Fellowship year with the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs. She was a Staff Attorney with the ACLU for 5 years before becoming the Regional Legal Advisor for the Norweigian Refugee Council. She spent 7 years as the Head of the Rule of Law Unit for the OSCE Mission to Croatia,focusing primarily on national war crimes accountability. She recently returned to the NRC as a consultant in the Greater New York City Area.
