Jean graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2000. As a law student, Jean was editor of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law, a board member of the Women’s Legal Alliance, co-chairperson of the Equal Justice Foundation, and winner of Georgetown’s Outstanding Public Service Award. She spent her Fellowship working at Ayuda on immigration and domestic violence issues, assisting those who may be eligible to file battered spouse waivers or gender-based asylum claims.
After working with Boat People SOS, Jean returned to Ayuda as the Director of the Community Legal Interpretor Bank.
The Bank screens, tests, and trains interpreters to work with legal services providers in DC. It also provides training to the providers financial support for all of the interpretation services.
