State Lawmakers Pass Family Leave Bill for New Parents
"The Washington state Legislature passed a measure Sunday that would give all employees in the state five weeks of paid leave for a new child... If Gov. Chris Gregoire signs the measure into law, as expected, Washington will become the second state in the country with a paid family leave law on the books.”
Terry Bill Supports Stay-at-Home Parents
"Rep. Lee Terry and Sen. Sam Brownback have introduced a bill that would allow parents the freedom to stay at home with their children.The proposed Parents' Tax Relief Act, which the legislators offered in March, would give stay-at-home parents tax breaks that would help relieve some of the financial problems that they face.”
