Wilmot (L\u201973), long-serving Dean of Admissions for the Law Center (1973-1989).<\/p>\n<p>Dean Wilmot was a trailblazer in diversifying the Georgetown community and someone who personally influenced the lives and career paths of many of the students who passed through the Law Center\u2019s doors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The virtual program featured three live fireside chats with Dean Wilmot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The Early Years<\/em>: In conversation with Johnny Barnes (L\u201973, L\u201976) and Joe Nunn<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The World of Legal Education<\/em>: In conversation with Former Senior Assistant Dean Everett Bellamy and Professor Emerita Elizabeth Hayes Patterson<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Legal Practice, local economic development, and minority business participation<\/em>:\u00a0In conversation with\u00a0Fred Cooke and Warner Session (L\u201982)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There were warm tributes from a number of special guests, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University President John J. DeGioia<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dean William M. Treanor<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (H\u201977, H\u201989, H\u201918)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (L\u201984)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President and CEO of the Urban League, Marc Morial (L\u201983)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joining us as Master of Ceremonies was journalist, author, and political analyst Michelle Bernard (L\u201988). She is also founder and CEO of the Bernard Center for Women, Politics, and Public Policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We invite your support of an endowed scholarship established in Dean Wilmot&#8217;s honor.
