The joint J.D.\/LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law is a multidisciplinary program that enables students to learn the legal framework that regulates international markets, and the relationships between individuals, businesses, and the States.<\/p>\n
This joint degree program allows students who are completing their J.D. degree to take international business and economic law courses that will count toward both the J.D. and the LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law. Students in the program can earn their J.D. and LL.M. degrees in 7 full-time semesters, or somewhat longer if completing the program on a part-time basis.<\/p>\n

Program<\/span>(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/span><\/a> and LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law<\/span>(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0pages for program overviews of each degree.<\/p>\n The joint J.D.\/LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law is open to current Georgetown Law J.D. students.<\/p>\n J.D. students must apply for admission<\/span>(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/span><\/a> to the program at the end of their 2L\/3E year.<\/p>\n The J.D.\/LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law is highly competitive, and only a select number of J.D. students will gain admission.<\/p>\n During J.D. studies, students will complete 8 specialization credits and additional required coursework that counts toward the LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law. The additional coursework that students are expected to complete are:<\/p>\n After completing the J.D. program, students transition to LL.M. students and complete 12 additional credits necessary to fulfill the remaining LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law program requirements. 8 out of the 12 credits must be qualifying International Business and Economic Law specialization credits.<\/p>\n The program requirements listed above should be used as a reference, and have been sourced from the Georgetown Law\u00a0Student Handbook of Academic Policies<\/span>(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/span><\/a>.
