Georgetown’s tax professors\u00a0are world-recognized teachers and scholars and are regularly consulted by multinational businesses, the United States government, and international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Bank. Georgetown also has over 100 adjunct faculty members who are practitioners at major law and accounting firms, non-profit organizations and think-tanks, as well as top government officials.<\/p>\n
Students can pursue a J.D. degree or a\u00a0Taxation LL.M. degree<\/a>. Georgetown\u2019s extensive tax\u00a0curriculum<\/a>\u00a0offers students the opportunity to choose from more than 70 courses and seminars dealing with every aspect of tax law. These courses cover foundational subjects such as corporate, partnership, and international taxation, as well as dozens of advanced offerings across a wide variety of specialty areas.<\/p>\n Students in the Taxation LL.M. program can supplement their coursework by completing an\u00a0externship<\/a>\u00a0for academic credit at government organizations such as the Internal Revenue Service, the Treasury Department, the U.S. Tax Court, as well as at major law firms and the national offices of Big Four accounting firms.
