(King&#8217;s College London)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Georgetown Law and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"cx_external_link\"><span class=\"cx_external_hyperlink\">King&#8217;s College London Dickson Poon School of Law<\/span><span class=\"visually_hide\">(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><span class=\"cx_external_icon\"><\/span><\/a> have established the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)\/LL.M. dual degree program, offered to a small number of LL.B. students from King&#8217;s College London to earn an internationally focused LL.M. degree from Georgetown University.<\/p>\n<p>Students start their year-long LL.M. experience by spending the fall semester at Georgetown Law in Washington, D.C., and return to London, United Kingdom the following spring semester to complete LL.M. coursework at the <a href=\"http:\/\/ctls.georgetown.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"cx_external_link\"><span class=\"cx_external_hyperlink\">Center for Transnational Legal Studies<\/span><span class=\"visually_hide\">(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><span class=\"cx_external_icon\"><\/span><\/a> (CTLS).<\/p>\n<h2>Program Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The LL.B\/LL.M. is a four-year dual degree program ideal for students interested in international, comparative and transnational legal studies. The main difference is the spring semester, where dual degree students will take LL.M. coursework at CTLS.<\/p>\n<p>CTLS coursework will be applied to fulfill the total credit requirement for the LL.M. in General Studies, and specialization credit requirement for the LL.M. in International Legal Studies.<\/p>\n<h2>Special Considerations<\/h2>\n<p>Because half of the LL.M. experience will be outside of the United States, there are some limitations to consider in terms of opportunities that are usually available for full-time LL.M. students studying in Washington, D.C. the whole academic year. LL.B.\/LL.M. dual degree students will not be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fulfill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.georgetown.edu\/academics\/graduate-programs\/student-services\/student-advising\/bar-exam-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"cx_external_link\"><span class=\"cx_external_hyperlink\">course requirements for New York Bar eligibility<\/span><span class=\"visually_hide\">(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><span class=\"cx_external_icon\"><\/span><\/a>.
