The rule will become effective on September 15, 2026. Georgetown previously\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/georgetown.box.com\/s\/mac1jso91iahiyaobdlrfblshurgi4bo\">submitted a comment<\/a> to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in opposition to this rule. This will impact students in F or J status, scholars in J status, and alumni with OPT, STEM OPT, or AT authorization.
