Alumni Admissions Interview Program
During the 2007-2008 admissions cycle, Georgetown Law alumni interviewed a certain percentage of the law school's applicants in an attempt to personalize the Law Center's admissions process and recruit the best possible students to the Law Center. By creating an interview program here at the Law Center, where we receive more applications than any other law school, our goal was to gain valuable input from alumni interviewers in helping us to shape the incoming class, as well as make the process feel more individual and personal.
When we launched the Alumni Admissions Interview Program eight years ago, we recruited 215 alumni to interview 435 applicants. In the last few years, the program has averaged over 750 alumni volunteers conducting 1000 interviews annually. During the 2014-2015 admissions cycle, applicants were interviewed in 35 states, the District of Columbia, and 13 foreign countries. The information gathered through each alumni interview has been incredibly helpful to the Office of Admissions' assessment of thousands of terrifically talented applicants.
We always need new alumni interview volunteers - particularly in certain areas:
Ann Arbor/Detroit Raleigh-Durham Boston North/Central Florida Pittsburgh
Central Ohio Seattle Portland, OR San Diego Los Angeles San Francisco
