Can we expect a new surge of migration to the United States as a result of the economic crisis in the region produced by COVID-19? What do recent trends at the U.S.-Mexico border tell us about the situation on the ground? How would the U.S. respond to new migration pressures under a Trump 2 or Biden administrations? What is the likelihood of a more regional approach to migration that includes investment and economic relief in source countries? Are there any new opportunities on that front? What can the U.S., Mexico and other countries in the region do, including at the borders, to better regulate migration flows and reduce the insecurity and violence that migrants face?
