Her research focuses on police organizations, police-community relations, accountability, procedural justice, and race &amp; ethnicity from a global and comparative perspective. Dr. Phiri has presented her work at various conferences including the American Society of Criminology and the Law &amp; Society Association.<\/p>\n<p>She is recognized as an inaugural scholar in the American Society of Evidence-Based Policing program on applied Criminology &amp; Data Management. Recently, Dr. Phiri completed a research fellowship at Arnold Ventures, furthering her expertise in evidence-based practices.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Phiri is committed to using research to drive evidence-based policy changes that positively impact marginalized communities. Her current interests lie in alternative first responses and community policing, aiming to reshape public safety paradigms. Her alignment with CICS stems from its emphasis on integrating rigorous research with impactful programming in the criminal justice field. Dr. Phiri&#8217;s vision includes envisioning a future with a smaller footprint of the criminal legal system, achieved through collaborative efforts with system actors and impacted communities.<\/p>\n<p>She hold\u00a0holds a Master\u2019s in Community Development from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor\u2019s in International Relations &amp; Business from Brandeis University.<\/p>\n<p>Having lived in nine countries, spanning five continents, Dr. Phiri offers a multicultural and global perspective.
