Zachi\u00a0Elias is joining CICS as part of the Youth for Tomorrow Fellowship. He is a high school student in Washington, D.C., and plans to study history in college. He created\u00a0Housing Our Stories<\/span>(This link opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/span><\/a>, an oral history project documenting the experiences of D.C. residents in diverse housing environments. Zachi also developed an award-winning 9-minute documentary on the Freedom of Information Act.\u00a0Zachi believes that preserving memory can be a form of justice, especially when it brings attention to overlooked voices. Through this fellowship, he is excited to collaborate on a multimedia project that honors survivors\u2019 oral histories and promotes education and advocacy on gun violence prevention.
