No other law school or school of government matches our geographic advantage when it comes to the House and Senate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Led by Professor Victoria Nourse, the Center places particular emphasis on lawmaking within the legislature. The Center\u2019s academic advisory board includes Professor Professor Josh Chafetz, Professor Janel George, Anita Krishnakumar, Professor Dave Rapallo, Professor Kevin Tobia &#8211; some of the members of the Georgetown faculty with extensive experience on the Hill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At a school where our graduates have gone on to be both Senators and Representatives, and not to mention key staffers, we are pleased to bring academics, students, and Members together to foster knowledge about the making and interpretation of statutes, campaigns and elections, and the legislative process more generally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Past Center events include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Then-Vice President Biden&#8217;s speech on the Supreme Court nomination process (2016)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A panel of substantive experts on tax, immigration, climate change, and other areas \u201cpreviewing\u201d the coming Congress<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A panel on the nuclear option and the filibuster of judicial nominees<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A panel of campaign experts reviewing recent elections<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Hill alumni event sponsored by the alumni office<\/span><\/li>\n<li>A joint conference with Columbia Law\u2019s ERA Project on the pathway to the final ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment.
