Elizabeth R. Kirk is an Assistant Professor at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of\"\" Law, where she also serves as Director of the Center for Law and the Human Person.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her scholarship focuses on law and the family, including parental rights, reproductive technologies, abortion jurisprudence, and child welfare and adoption. She also writes on the relationship between the Catholic intellectual tradition and law.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her work has appeared in the <\/span>Notre Dame Law Review<\/span><\/i> (forthcoming), the <\/span>Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy<\/span><\/i>, and the <\/span>Texas Review of Law & Politics<\/span><\/i>, and has been published by the Institute for Family Studies, <\/span>Humanum<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Public Discourse<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>First Things<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

From 2019 to 2020, Kirk served as Director and Kowalski Chair of Catholic Thought at the Institute for Faith and Culture at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center, University of Kansas. From 2005 to 2011, she served as Associate Director of the University of Notre Dame\u2019s Center for Ethics and Culture. Earlier, she clerked for Judge Daniel A. Manion of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.<\/span><\/p>\n

She holds a law degree <\/span>magna cum laude<\/span><\/i> from the University of Notre Dame, an undergraduate degree <\/span>cum laude<\/span><\/i> in English literature from the University of Missouri, and has completed graduate coursework in theology.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
