Stephen P. Hills
Visiting Professor of Law and Founding Director of the Business Law Scholars Program
Professor Stephen P. Hills was appointed the founding director of Georgetown Law’s Business Skills Program in September 2015 after a successful 28 year career at The Washington Post. Professor Hills served as president and general manager of The Post since September 2002, and in 2008 became president and general manager of Washington Post Media, a multi-platform news brand. During his tenure at The Post, he led the transformation of the company culture from a print-centric legacy organization to a digital powerhouse, embracing innovative approaches to technology and creating a culture of 'fail fast' experimentation. He developed the business case for selling The Post, and led the transition that resulted in The Post being named “Most Innovative Media Company in the World” by Fast Company in 2015. Professor Hills graduated from Yale University in 1981 and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1987.
Alison M. Spada
Assistant Dean for Executive Education and Innovation
Alison Spada is the Assistant Dean for Executive Education and Innovation at Georgetown Law. Prior to her current role, Ms. Spada worked for over a decade in the Office of Admissions at Georgetown Law, most recently as the Assistant Dean for Admissions. She graduated from Colgate University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She earned her Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 2001. At Cornell, she won the first year moot court competition and became Vice-Chancellor of the Cornell Moot Court Board, as well as serving as an Associate Editor on the Cornell Journal of International Law. Prior to joining Georgetown University, Ms. Spada was a litigator with the offices of Dewey Ballantine LLP in New York and Washington, specializing in commercial litigation and major bankruptcy litigation. She remains an active member of the New York Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
