Location: Student Virtual Event
Date: February 17, 2021

This event will explore the forgotten history and contemporary relevance of Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment, which bans those who have engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” against the United States or have “given aid or comfort” to its enemies from holding an array of offices. Though rarely used, this provision has taken on new relevance after the recent storming of the United States Capitol by a mob intent on pressing their claim that the recent election was “stolen.”
