Externship Program. Students also may receive compensation for their externship through a fellowship program or law firm stipend that is distinct from the field placement itself. Please note, however, that students are still <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>not permitted<\/strong><\/span> to extern for academic credit through the J.D. Externship Program and receive a Public Service Summer Grant through the Office of Public Interest and Community Service (OPICS), or <em>any other funding through Georgetown University<\/em> for their fieldwork (including, but not limited to, Federal Work Study grants).<\/p>\n<p>Students may receive reimbursement from their field placement organization, if available, for their reasonable out-of-pocket expenses related to their work at the field placement (e.g., for metro transit or parking).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Compensation and Reimbursement Students who will receive compensation at a qualifying government, nonprofit, or judicial field placement are permitted to participate in the J.D.
