B.A., Cornell; M.A.L.D., Tufts; J.D., Suffolk; DES, Institut des Hautes Etudes, Geneva, Switzerland. Lorraine M. Brennan is the Managing Director of JAMS International. She will be located in London as of May 2011, and will play a key role in negotiating arbitration and mediation partnership agreements throughout the European Union. She is also the newly elected President of Arbitral Women, a group dedicated to promoting and advancing women in the field of international dispute resolution. Prior to her position with JAMS, Ms. Brennan served as the Senior Vice President, Programs and International, of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR). She was also a partner in the New York office of Kilpatrick Stockton, where she served as a member of their International Dispute Resolution Team. Professor Brennan has served as Director of Arbitration and ADR, North America, ICC International Court of Arbitration, where she acted as the American advisor to the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, France, advising North American attorneys and companies on all phases of ICC arbitration, including: negotiation of arbitration clauses, requests for arbitration, procedural issues and enforcement of arbitration awards. From 1997-1999, Ms. Brennan served as the Director of Arbitration and Intellectual Property and Legal Counsel at the United States Counsel for International Business (USCIB). She is one of 8 U.S. Members of the NAFTA 2022 Committee on Private Commercial Disputes. She is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell University, and a Visiting Professor at Shantou, China. Professor Brennan frequently appears as a speaker at international dispute resolution conferences throughout the world.
