Professor Curtin is a partner with the firm of Bingham McCutchen LLP where his practice encompasses all aspects of federal tax controversy and litigation matters. He has more than 35 years of experience handling tax cases, first as a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the Department of Justice and thereafter in private practice. Professor Curtin is particularly recognized for his work in the preparation and trial of large cases, and has tried both civil and criminal tax matters. He has extensive experience in IRS summons matters, including John Doe and designated summonses and has considerable experience in foreign discovery procedures, including letters rogatory and depositions taken abroad. Professor Curtin is a Fellow in The American College of Trial Lawyers.  He has lectured as an adjunct professor for over 20 years.
