Professor Cieslak earned her B.A. in History from Yale University in 2004 and she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2010. During law school, Professor Cieslak was the Book Review Editor of the Michigan Law Review and the Chair of the law school’s Henry M. Campbell moot court competition. After graduating from law school, she clerked for the Honorable Pierre N. Leval on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Cornelia T.L. Pillard on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Between her clerkships, Professor Cieslak was an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, DC. She is currently a Trial Attorney in the Civil Division of the Department of Justice (Commercial Litigation Branch, Fraud Section).
