Lily Farel is a Trial Attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, where she represents the Commission in litigation matters before federal district courts and other tribunals.
Prior to working at the FCC, Professor Farel was a trial attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the U.S. Department of Justice. She joined DOJ through the honors program, where she defended the United States against challenges to the constitutionality of government programs, such as the No Fly list, certain economic sanctions applied by the Departments of State and Treasury, and the Controlled Substances Act. Before moving to DOJ, Professor Farel clerked on the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.
Professor Farel holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and a J.D., from Duke University.
