Professor Rock is the Deputy Director of the Office of Consumer Protection of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. He has prosecuted violations of the District’s Consumer Protection Procedures Act, False Claims Act, Nonprofit Corporations Act and tax statutes. He has received the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for the trial of affirmative litigation and the Charles L. Reischel writing award. He previously was an associate at Sidley Austin LLP and Ross Dixon & Bell LLP (and later by merger, Troutman Sanders LLP), where he practiced in the areas of general litigation, government investigations, and insurance coverage. He was a law clerk to Judge Maurice Paul of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida. He has also served as a member and chair of the D.C. Bar’s Election Committee, a member of the Nominations Committee, and as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Adams Morgan.
