Kristan Lansbery is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice at Arnold & Porter LLP. She has over a dozen years of experience focused principally on patent counseling for life sciences companies. Professor Lansbery has in-depth experience with divergent matters in front of the US Patent and Trademark Office including ex parte prosecution and contested cases, as well as experience with district court litigation and licensing. Representative matters include an interference case about an angioplasty balloon coated with a drug; inter partes reviews for a dermatological agent; reexaminations covering stents; a variety of patent prosecution related to pharmaceutical formulations, diagnostics, agricultural biotechnology, genomics; and district court litigations related to labeled nucleic acids and their detection, a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) patent portfolio, and monoclonal antibody technology. Professor Lansbery started her career as a scientist using an assortment of techniques and model systems to study a wide variety of biological topics, including endocrinology, neurology, cellular biology, microbiology, and post-translational processing, and enzymology.
