Roger Magnusson is Professor of Health Law & Governance at Sydney Law School, University of Sydney, Australia. His research interests are in health law, public health law and governance, and health development. In his earlier career he worked extensively on legal and policy issues associated with HIV/AIDS. He is the author of Angels of Death: Exploring the Euthanasia Underground (Yale University Press), a study of the practice of extra-legal physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia among health professionals working in HIV/AIDS in Sydney, Melbourne and San Francisco. Professor Magnusson's current research focuses on the opportunities for law and regulation in responding to chronic, non-communicable diseases. He is a member of the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathines Advisory Council to Australia's National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
