Ryan Phair is an experienced trial lawyer and appellate advocate at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in Washington, DC and currently serves as the Chair of Hunton’s Global Antitrust, Competition, and Consumer Protection practice group. He has represented corporate and individual clients, both as plaintiffs and defendants, in a broad spectrum of complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels. On behalf of plaintiffs, Professor Phair has successfully recovered over $1 billion for his clients, making him one of a handful of lawyers to have ever achieved this feat. On behalf of defendants, he has an equally remarkable track record of success spanning dozens of complex cases, investigations, and enforcement actions. He is also a key member of Hunton’s interdisciplinary Retail Industry Practice Group and works extensively with myriad online and “brick and mortar” retailers, often on a daily basis as national coordinating counsel, to address litigation risks and related issues, including antitrust and competition; data privacy and security; product labeling and liability; advertising, marketing, and pricing practices; and statutory and consumer class actions. Professor Phair is thrilled to be joining Georgetown Law as an adjunct professor this semester, and looks forward to discussing the legal issues affecting the retail industry with his students.
