Welcome to\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online<\/em>, the blog and online companion to\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Georgetown Law Journal Online,\u00a0<\/em>like the\u00a0Journal<\/em>, is a general legal publication that contains more informal blog posts as well as formal responses to in-print scholarship, scholarly debates, and case comments.\u00a0The launch of\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online<\/em>\u00a0coincides with a significant benchmark in the\u00a0Journal<\/em>\u2018s history: the celebration of its 100th Volume.<\/p>\n

In reflecting on one hundred years of\u00a0Journal<\/em>\u00a0scholarship, it seemed fitting to also look forward to where the next century will take us. With that in mind,\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online<\/em>\u00a0asked four great modern legal minds to write about the intersection of the law and the Internet:<\/p>\n

Ken Jost, the Supreme Court editor for\u00a0CQ Press<\/em>,\u00a0was also once the editor-in-chief of\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal<\/em>. In addition to his work at\u00a0CQ<\/em>, Mr. Jost is an\u00a0adjunct faculty member\u00a0<\/a>at Georgetown Law and the author of his own legal blog,\u00a0Jost on Justice<\/a>.\u00a0His inaugural post on\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online\u00a0<\/em>touches on how the Internet has affected legal scholarship and journalism.<\/p>\n

Radley Balko, a senior writer and investigative journalist for\u00a0The Huffington Post<\/a><\/em>, writes on civil liberties and crime. \u00a0His award-winning journalism has been featured in a multitude of places, from\u00a0The Wall Street Journal\u00a0<\/em>to\u00a0Playboy.\u00a0<\/em>His inaugural post on\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online<\/em>\u00a0tells two stories that demonstrate the power of the Internet to bring about justice and effect legal change.<\/p>\n

Pamela Jones is the founder and former editor of\u00a0Groklaw<\/a><\/em>, a landmark blog addressing the law and open source issues. As one of the first people covering the law as it intersected with the Internet and technology, Ms. Jones\u2019s inaugural post for\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online\u00a0<\/em>reflects on the growth of the open-source movement and the continued need for online involvement from academia.<\/p>\n

Mike Sacks is the Supreme Court reporter for\u00a0The Huffington Post<\/em>, a recent Georgetown Law \u00a0graduate, the founder of\u00a0First One @ One First<\/a><\/em>, a blog he began in law school, reporting directly from the Supreme Court. Mr. Sacks will close out the inaugural week of\u00a0The Georgetown Law Journal Online<\/em>by\u00a0discussing the potential role of online blogs on legal scholarship and the legal world in general.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
