Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Applicant Qualifications<\/strong><\/em>\n
      \n
    • Entrants must be currently enrolled in a J.D., LL.M, or S.J.D. program at an ABA-accredited law school located in the United States. Eligibility is not limited to students enrolled at the Georgetown University Law Center. Eligibility is not limited to students enrolled in a full-time program.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • A submission from a member of <\/span>The<\/span><\/i> Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i> will fulfill the <\/span>Journal<\/span><\/i>\u2019s Note requirement if it meets the standards outlined in <\/span>The<\/span><\/i> Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i> Notes Manual.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Submission Details<\/strong><\/em>\n
        \n
      • Submission should be limited to 10,000 words, inclusive of footnotes. Pieces beyond the word limit will not be considered. Submissions should be double-spaced; in Times New Roman 12-point font; submitted in .doc or .docx format.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Submissions should be accompanied by a separate document, which should provide a brief summary of the Note and statement of originality. This document should follow the same formatting as the Note submission outlined above and will not be included in the 10,000 word count limit.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • The Note should be entitled \u201c[TITLE]-GLJ Note.\u201d\u00a0The summary of the Note and statement of originality should be entitled \u201c[TITLE]-GLJ Statement.\u201d All personally identifying information should be removed on both documents.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Submissions should be made by emailing geoljonline@gmail.com with subject line \u201c<\/span>GLJOnline Notes Contest Submission.\u201d<\/span> Submissions will be anonymized before selection process begins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Contest Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n
          \n
        1. Judging Criteria<\/strong><\/em>\n
            \n
          • Submissions will be evaluated in accordance with the <\/span>Journal<\/span><\/i>\u2019s formal selection process. The process will be managed by the Editor-in-Chief,<\/span>\u00a0Senior Online Editor, and Senior Articles Editor of The <\/em><\/span>Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i>. The submissions will be considered anonymously. The selection committee will evaluate the submissions based on novelty, its contribution to the existing scholarship in the fields of procedural and substantive rights, clarity and writing style, and citational support.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • The Senior Board and volunteer editors shall designate a set of finalists to be considered for the winning submission(s).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Prize & Award<\/strong><\/em>\n
              \n
            • The Announcement of the winning Note(s) shall be made by the Editor-in-Chief of <\/span>The<\/span><\/i> Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i> in Spring 2023. Entrants who submit a winning Note agree to publish in <\/span>GLJ Online<\/span><\/i> and to participate in the 1\u20132 month editing process leading up to publication. <\/span><\/li>\n
            • The Award shall consist of the following elements:<\/span>\n
                \n
              • Publication on <\/span>The<\/span><\/i> Georgetown Law Journal\u2019<\/span><\/i>s online platform in Spring 2023.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • The<\/span> Journal<\/span><\/i> reserves the right to publish the winning Notes on its social media outlets.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • A monetary prize of $250 will be awarded to each of the winners.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
