Eligibility is not limited to students enrolled at the Georgetown University Law Center. Eligibility is not limited to students enrolled in a full-time program.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A submission from a member of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> will fulfill the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019s Note requirement if it meets the standards outlined in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Notes Manual.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em><strong>Submission Details<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submission should be limited to 10,000 words, inclusive of footnotes. Pieces beyond the word limit will not be considered. Submissions should be double-spaced; in Times New Roman 12-point font; submitted in .doc or .docx format.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submissions should be accompanied by a separate document, which should provide a brief summary of the Note and statement of originality. This document should follow the same formatting as the Note submission outlined above and will not be included in the 10,000 word count limit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Note should be entitled \u201c[TITLE]-GLJ Note.\u201d\u00a0The summary of the Note and statement of originality should be entitled \u201c[TITLE]-GLJ Statement.\u201d All personally identifying information should be removed on both documents.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submissions should be made by emailing geoljonline@gmail.com with subject line <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span>GLJOnline Notes Contest Submission.<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d<\/span> Submissions will be anonymized before selection process begins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Contest Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em><strong>Judging Criteria<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submissions will be evaluated in accordance with the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019s formal selection process. The process will be managed by the Editor-in-Chief,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Senior Online Editor, and Senior Articles Editor of <em>The <\/em><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The submissions will be considered anonymously. The selection committee will evaluate the submissions based on novelty, its contribution to the existing scholarship in the fields of procedural and substantive rights, clarity and writing style, and citational support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Senior Board and volunteer editors shall designate a set of finalists to be considered for the winning submission(s).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em><strong>Prize &amp; Award<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Announcement of the winning Note(s) shall be made by the Editor-in-Chief of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Georgetown Law Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in Spring 2023.
